1. Call
your lender.
-Give them your homeowners insurance information if you haven't
done so. Your agent can speak with the insurance company to
give them any pertinent information.
-Make sure they have all documentation that they need.
2. Perform Walk-Through.
-Walk-throughs are generally performed the day prior to closing or the morning of closing.
-Make sure all fixtures that are supposed to be in the home
are there, as well as any personal items that were negotiated.
-If new construction, you will have a paint walk-through,
inspect all systems and make sure they work properly, and
make sure all normal problems caused during construction have
been taken care of.
3. Call all utilities companies and
have them operating on day of closing.

4. Fill out change of address forms
at the post office.
-Do it online

-Put up a mailbox if new construction so you can receive mail.
-Notify anyone you receive mail from of your new address.
5. Notify School System if you have
children.
-Depending on the location of you property you will need to
enroll your children in that area.
